Tortoise Hill

Ideally located in the Hanyan District of Wuhan, Tortoise Hill, or Guishan (Gui Hill), offers some of the most uniquely beautiful scenery the entire land of China has to offer, with the view of the Yangtze River from Tortoise Hill of particular interest since there is probably no other place where it can be experienced in this manner.

Tortoise Hill

Tortoise Hill is locked in by the Yangtze River, southwards, Moon Lake to the west, Hanshui River to the north and Lotus Lake to the east, distinguishing it as somewhat of an island that punctuates the northern bank of the mighty Yangtze River.

Tortoise Hill fittingly forms the epicenter of scenic tourist spot, with a number of other scenic spots surrounding the Hill, offering more than just the sightseeing aspect of tourism, but also an opportunity to learn a bit about the local culture of Wuhan, such as all which comes with the history of the Three Kingdoms Town, the Guanwang Temple and the Peach Blossom Cave.

Highlights

The remote, hilly area of Tortoise Hill, which houses the Wangjiang Pavilion, is a point of particular interest since this is where that unique view of the Yangtze River is enjoyed, perfect for any postcard or painting and that is just one of the many features of Tortoise Hill that make it one of the most coveted tourist spots, anywhere in the whole of China, let alone locally.

In addition to the view of the Yangtze River, from the hilly sight of the Wangjiang Pavilion, a total must-see, to lead the gravity of your tour to Tortoise Hill, is the Hubei Television Tower, which occurs at the peak of the Hill.

The Hubei Television Tower is of particular interest because it holds up to 300 guests up top a unique vantage point to get a view of Tortoise Hill itself, as well as the surrounding scenic areas, stretching up over 310 metres above sea-level.

Entrance Fees

For the serious bargain hunters, if you arrive before 08:00, you can get in free at Tortoise Hill, otherwise the admission fee of only 3 Yuan shouldn't be a problem at all.

How to Get There

Probably the tour bus (Tour Bus 1) is the best way to get to Tortoise Hill, since it is specialized for touring boarders, but there is a choice between three other busses as well, with operational times running from 8:00 to 17:30 and busses starting a little earlier than that.
