I am sorry I am slow to respond. The trip was fabulous and my husband had a fantastic surprise birthday. I would definitely recommend China Highlights to my family and friends. Your role in organising it for us was exceptional. You responded to all my emails without delay and met all our requirements. I thank you very much for that. Our guides were wonderful and knowledgeable. And the fact that we could easily move between destinations using train transport without the drama of having to organise our own tickets and find our own accommodation meant we didn't have to waste any of our valuable vacation time. I loved Huangshan but unfortunately the weather was not favourable, so I guess we'll just have to come back some time. My favourite place was Hangzhou and of course, just driving through the beautiful Chinese countryside, which was magnificent. The accommodation was all very good, especially the place we stayed at Suzhou. We saw two evening performances that our local guides put us onto and they were both amazing. Probably the only (little) displeasure was when we had foot massages in one of the hotels when the masseurs wouldn't let us leave without paying them each a $50 tip, which we thought was excessive. (This was not related to your services, excepting that it was in a hotel that you had put us up in.) Actually, the tipping was our one big dilemma with the whole trip. Being Australian, it is not in our culture to tip and so this caused a degree of ongoing stress for us. We feel it would be better if the tipping could be completely eliminated from the vacation package and that would then enhance the enjoyment of the vacation.
