Peter's Feedback on 16-Day China Tour

Dear Leon,

Now that we are back in Sydney, I need to thank you for the marvelous journey you arranged for us.

As you know I had some doubts that everything would go smoothly, but I was quite wrong, as nothing went wrong and all the arrangements you made worked perfectly. This was quite an achievement as it was by no means a simple tour.

The friendliness of the Chinese people towards us came as a very pleasant surprise. People in the street wanted to meet us and make contact despite the obvious language barriers.

Of course we had heard about the overall progress of the Chinese economy, but to see what has been achieved since we were there 27 years ago was quite breathtaking.

Every tour you arranged was worth while and we have no complaints about any of the hotels. The absolutely best aspect about our tour was the quality and knowledge of your tour guides/escorts. We consider that with all of them we have made good friends. They try so hard to give us a full appreciation of what we are seeing and go to any lengths to make us feel as comfortable as possible. They were very cognisant of our advanced age, but at times gently prodded us “You can do it”, which of course we could and greatly appreciated their efforts. Please thank all of them and if they ever come to Australia we would welcome them.

In particular thank Claire in Guilin. Lulu had left a bag on the river cruise boat, which she retrieved and posted to Shanghai.

When it comes to the WOW factor, it was probably the Stone Warriors in Xian. We had of course seen documentaries about these, but that just did not prepare us for actually seeing them. Our guide, Spring, succeeded in giving us a better appreciation of Chinese culture by taking us to all of the important sites and museums. The way the various historical sites have been developed in China is as good as (and probably better) than we have seen anywhere else.

The main advice I would give them is to communicate fully with you, so that you understand what the clients actually want. You seem to have understood our requirements extremely well, because everything matched our expectations.
