To Lhasa and a very warm greeting from Lhadup our guide. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable and helped make it a very special trip. He did make a couple of changes to the itinerary to suit the weather, views of the Himalaya etc. We were very pleased he took the initiative.

I am sorry it has taken me so long to give you more thoughts on our trip. We have had a very busy time since our return to Perth a month ago. Generally, we were very pleased with the main trip to Tibet.

Jenny, the young guide who met us in Xining was delightful. The buffet lunch before we caught the train was excellent. We ended up with a cabin to ourselves which was a real treat and unexpected.

The hotels were more than adequate and the lunch food was varied and we enjoyed. All the drivers we had were very good and we felt very safe. I think the hotel ratings were accurately assessed. We like fruit and yoghurt for breakfast. We had the best breakfasts in the Tsetang Hotel. Generally for us the breakfasts were just ok. The coffee shop next to the Shambhala Hotel in Lhasa was excellent. Let clients know it is there as probably the ONLY western coffee shop in Tibet.

Our side trip to Namtso Lake was excellent. The food at the hotel here was OK. I would certainly recommend China Highlights.
