Janet's Feedback on 9-Day China Tour

Thank you so much for arranging an exciting 8 days in Shanghai for us. This is our second trip to China which China Highlights has organised for us and we can highly recommend them for being professional in every way, doing what they promised, the guides and drivers were excellent and on time every day. Having our own guide and driver made the most of our short time in Shanghai.

This is our second trip to China which China Highlights has organised for us and we can highly recommend them for being professional in every way, doing what they promised, the guides and drivers were excellent and on time every day. Having our own guide and driver made the most of our short time in Shanghai.

We had a great guide who spoke English well and had travelled herself which helped her understand our perspective and tailor our tour towards things that interested us. We were really WOWED by the huge level of development that has taken place in the last 20 years in Shanghai. With all those 23 million residents and 6 million commuting regularly the transport system that flowed so well was mind boggling. We enjoyed the getting around on the subway, the ring roads,elevated roads and motorways, tunnels under the river and suspension bridges not to mention the numbers of bullet trains left us amazed. In our city we are struggling to build a few kilometres stretch of light rail tram line and don't have any of the rest!

The sheer pace of growth is is well documented with amazing models, 3D movies and photograhic displays which we saw at the Urban Planning Centre, The World Trade Centre and the Pearl TV Tower.

Our day trips to Nanjing, Souzhou and the water town were fantastic and really showed the long history of the country and reflected what we had seen at the museum.

The evening cruise on the river was a fabulous first night experience. The history at The Bund and the amazing development of Pudong opposite with all those huge buildings lit up was a highlight.

The Bund Hotel was good. The room was spacious and the amenities were first class and the lovely breakfast was a great start to each day! The hotel was just a 10 minute walk to the Bund, to the shopping at Nanjing Rd and to the Subway at Peoples Park. We felt very safe walking around at night. We would have enjoyed it if the hotel had offered some night life - like a lobby bar with live music. We had to go to the Howard Johnson down the road to enjoy theirs instead.

The food was delicious. We liked the restaurants you had picked out for us and were able to go to  chinese restaurants when by ourselves as plenty of places had english on the menus and photos.

Having the free day and a half was great as we knew where we wanted to go by then and how to get there on the subway.

We will come to China again - there is so much yet to see and do. Thank you for making our trip so easy and so exciting. We will get China Highlights to organise our next trip of course!
