Tour Title: 11 Days Shanghai, Beijing, Xian, Guilin, Hong Kong, Macau Tour |
Hi Leon, The tour exceeded our expectation. The most memorable attraction is The Great Wall. Henry Wang in Beijing…he really knew a lot about the history and could answer our many questions every time. He also had excellent English skills. On top of that, he and the driver arranged 2 shows for us and transported us there and back to our hotel, after long days of driving us around. We really appreciated that. Jing Jing was also very nice, friendly and had a great attitude. She is a very fun person to be around and we enjoyed our time in Guilin with her! The drivers were very good, and the car/vans were air conditioned well. The Raffles in Beijing had the best breakfast buffet and the meals were all acceptable. The best restaurant for us was the McFound restaurant in Guilin. Did you go shopping? Do you have any suggestions for our future customers? We did go shopping. The terracotta shop that we went to in Xian was nice, but more expensive than many other terracotta shops that we saw afterwards in Xian. The cloisonné shop in Beijing is very nice if you are looking for a nice decorative piece. We bought a very nice vase there that they shipped to our home in the U.S. I think the best think about China Highlights is that you can get a personalized tour in a small group. We saw many large bus tour groups being herded around like cattle through the tours, hotels and airports. We felt like our experience was much better than theirs because we could be flexible and stay longer or shorter in places and we also could ask lots of questions since there were only 2 of us with 1 guide. Also, it was very nice to have someone waiting for us at the airport so we could easily get to our hotel. Finally, I truly believe that you could customize any trip you want in China – all you have to do is ask! Most of the other tour companies are very standardized in their tours with no flexibility to change the itinerary. We will definitely recommend your company to anyone thinking of visiting China – for all of the items you mentioned…flexibility and dependability being key. Emily
